Our approach to PACES
Five steps to focused preparation
01 · Understand your starting point
Identify gaps early, learn what effective PACES performance looks like, and turn feedback into clear priorities for improvement.
02 · Build a focused mindset
Set specific preparation goals, develop consistent study habits, and concentrate on the skills and techniques you can improve.
03 · Learn with purpose
Focus your reading on PACES-relevant knowledge. Recognise common pitfalls, connect knowledge with clinical reasoning, and practise applying it.
04 · Review your progress
Combine self-assessment with specific feedback. Track your confidence and competence, recognise recurring difficulties, and adjust your preparation plan.
05 · Put your plan into practice
Make the most of clinical work, specialty clinics and peer practice. Seek mentorship, manage your time, and examine patients with a clear learning objective.
